Damien Jones is the
graphics guy. That is, he's responsible for much
of the graphics programming of TSD, as well as the artwork.
(Until we can pay someone with real talent, that is.)
Reportedly there's a 3D polygon engine floating in the
back of his head, but computers don't read minds yet, so it
doesn't do any good there.
Although he currently programs in C++ and assembly under
Windows 95, he also has experience in 6502, Z80, 680x0, and
Jaguar RISC assembly programming, BASIC, FORTRAN, and PASCAL.
Most of that work was not done on PCs. (680x0 assembly code
doesn't seem to work too well on PCs.)
In the ancient history category, Damien published a
variety of Atari ST programs under the 'dmj software' label.
These include DMJ GIF (a GIF viewer/converter), Sound Lab (a
sound sampling/editing tool), and View II (a multi-format
file/picture viewer). These programs are now being maintained
by Jeff Wisniewski.
Damien is the resident fractal
nut. (His idea of a benchmark is how many
Julia sets a computer
can generate in one second.) Since he is also acting as webmaster,
it's hardly surprising that fractal-based pictures show up in
various places around the site.
