Bryan Edewaard is
the hardware guy. He has experience in digital and
analog electronics, and he'd rather troubleshoot a
non-functioning arcade video game than a non-functioning PC.
Unfortunately for him, he seems to be the one stuck with
troubleshooting non-functioning PCs whenever they show up
around here.
When it comes to programming, Bryan is experienced in 6502,
680x0, 80x86, and Jaguar RISC assembly, as well as C++ and
Visual BASIC. He has worked on a variety of systems
including the Atari 2600, the Atari 800 series computers,
the Atari ST series computers, the PC under DOS and Windows,
and the Atari Jaguar.
Bryan also collects and repairs classic video arcade games.
Currently in his collection are Tempest, Asteroids, Joust,
Centipede, Robotron, Q*Bert, Assault, Pac-Man, Omega Race,
Qix, Warlords, Missile Command, Defender, Asteroids Deluxe,
and an Empire Strikes Back machine which also runs Star Wars.
The most fun machine is probably Warlords, which
Bryan added extra paddles to so we can play four
players at once. Transcripts of hours-long Warlords
sessions would be enormously embarassing...
Rumor has it Bryan is putting together some pages about his
game collection. Perhaps it will actually make an appearance,
before the year is out.
