If you have read through the other sections (and I must admire your perseverance
in doing so) you are probably wondering what, if anything, is left for the "artist"
to do. The math does all the work, right?
Well, not exactly. These fractals are infinite - there is no end to them, you can
never see all of it, you will always be finding something new. It's quite possible
that when you look at a portion of these fractals, you may be looking at something
that nobody has ever seen before. The first and most important task is to find cool
shapes - this takes time. A certain familiarity with the fractals can help, but it
is by no means essential.
Another issue is color. The colors used, and the particular method to apply the
colors, are up to the artist's discretion. Choose well, and you get a fantastic
picture. Choose poorly, and you get garbage.
It could be argued that shape and color are what art is all about.
